A woman who took in unwanted animals was devastated Friday by news many of her pets died in a house fire. The Calgary Fire Department said 16 cats and three dogs were killed in the blaze on San Fernando Crescent N.E., which caused $50,000 worth of property damage. Two cats and seven dogs made it out of the house and are being cared for at an animal clinic.
